This is one of the very first Euro Prog albums I'd ever acquired, and as such, is very foundational to my overall music development. Despite having owned this for almost 40 years, I enjoyed a +1 listen. It's easy to be distracted by 'Hocus Pocus' which is close to a novelty hit, though that's an unfortunate stigma since there's some great hard rock buried in that tune. But the rest of the album is excellent symphonic prog, especially side 2.
Ownership: LP: 1971 Sire (USA). Single sleeve. I've had a few copies of this title over the years, including on German Polydor. This one came from a local thrift store in 2020 and is in super shape. A very easy album to find. My first copy came from Ralph's Records in Lubbock at the beginning of 1984. This is when it all started for me when it comes to hardcore collecting. The used record store - trying albums that looked interesting for only a dollar or two. Some of which I still own, or upgraded eventually.
CD: 1988 I.R.S. Old school reissue but with a nice history. One of the earliest LPs I replaced with a CD. I consider Moving Waves first division, so I'm keeping this as well.
Anonymous adds: "I bought the Focus Anthology box a couple of years ago and it contains two fantastic live versions of Eruption (37 and 46 min!)"
1984; 1995; 2014; 2/1/23 (LP 4.5); 4/5/23 (new entry)
