I purchased this new upon release in my final semester in college. One of the real treasures of my metal collection. As an aside, I recently returned from a energized sales conference in Las Vegas with thousands of attendees (early March). Before every executive would enter the stage, they would play a hard rock or heavy metal classic tune to introduce them. Similar to relief pitchers in baseball when they come onto the field. If I were to be in their shoes (and I have no intention of doing so), I would dig a little deeper and find a segment from the title track found here. What a monster of a track this is. A full TEN and a half instrumental thrash metal track that never sits still and gets very intense with real climaxes. It's astonishing to know these Filipino's were still only teenagers living in the Mission District of San Francisco at the time. The rest of the album is no slouch either, with oddly the opener being the weakest and most mundane thrasher here. 'Evil Priest' is another killer track.
Ownership: LP: 1987 Enigma. Single sleeve with lyric insert. Acquired from University Records in Lubbock (1987). Interesting to note that the original sales sticker called this "speed metal". Tells us that the metal subgenres weren't well defined yet.
CD: 1993 Restless. Commodity jewel case release. This is a first division+ album for me, so I'll keep both formats. Also this is a good one for highways with no speed limits (which don't exist in the US anymore unfortunately).
1987; 2004; 3/4/23 (LP 4.11); 4/10/23 (new entry)
