Dashiell Hedayat - Obsolete. 1971 France

Daniel Theron's (Hedayat of course) only solo album is very Gong-like but with the wonderful addition of vicious bass lines, almost Magma-esque. Less bombastic - more jumpy and off-kilter - but still a focus area of the music. It is this exact feature that endears me to the album.

Ownership: LP: 1978 Shandar. Love the textured pink single sleeve cover. Bought this from a mail order dealer in 1989 when it would still be listed as an "original". Who knew all of these minutiae details back then? Not too many folks. Discogs has certainly enlightened us over the years.

1989; 1995; 2/1/23 (LP 4.5); 4/5/23 (new entry)
