McDonald and Giles. 1970 England
The famous post In the Court of the Crimson King work that sounds to me like a pre King Crimson album. Very much from the UK psychedelic school. Hazy trippy vocals, flute, melancholic songs. It has enough progressive elements to keep it in that part of the collection, but one could make the argument it's pure psychedelic. The cover depicts the music well with Giles' wife and McDonald's girlfriend out in the woods in a pink and purple world.
Ownership: LP: 1977 Polydor. Gatefold. From a collection buy in 1997, though my first copy goes back to a fairly beat up US Cotillion press acquired in 1984.
1984; 1997; 2014; 2/2/23 (LP 4.6); 4/6/23 (new entry)
