Alquin - Mountain Queen. 1973 Netherlands

Everything I just stated in the Alquin Marks review, could be stated here, so I won't repeat it. For differences I find Mountain Queen to be less Canterbury influenced; More heavy rock - especially the organ; More vocals (still not enough to be concerned about). In fact, Mountain Queen is even closer to a Gnosis 12, and falls a nose short. All the same, I find myself really enjoying these two titles. Essential for prog rock fans.

Ownership: LP: 1973 Polydor. Gatefold. In this case I obtained the Dutch original. Not quite sure what's up with that back cover. From the same buy in Tucson (1994).

CD: 1990 Polydor. Combined with Marks (minus one track from that album).
