Rob Carroll Trio ~ Canada ~ Toronto, Ontario

Rob Carroll Trio (1983)

Rob Carroll is a Toronto based guitarist who pulled together this unknown trio for one album, and who also put out a couple of solo albums. Joining Carroll on this venture is bassist David Piltch, who plays a prominent role, and drummer Mike McClelland. The music can be simply described as all instrumental light fusion, with driving bass, and electric jazz guitar. Carroll never wails or gets psychedelic, and stays in his lane for the most part. Overall a very good, atmospheric, pleasant, and constrained release. A nice one for quiet nights.

Ownership: 1983 RSM (LP)

No reissues as of 3/29/25.

1/5/22 (review / new entry)
