Jukka Tolonen - Hysterica. 1975 Finland

Tolonen's 4th solo album comes at the height of the jazz rock movement, just ahead of the oncoming Fusion wave. As such it's much rawer and organic, but by this time, most of the jazz based artists had tossed the improvisational free aspects. All plusses as far as I'm concerned. The album starts off with the 10 minute+ 'Jimi', so you know this is going to be a guitarist's guitar album. 'Tiger' is another highlight. 6 tracks here, and the 4 lengthy ones bring the most interest, but it's all excellent. Flute, sax, and keys add color to the compositions.

Ownership: LP: 1975 Love. Single sleeve. This was a recent gift from a great friend of the UMR. Cool cover art. This is one of those albums I thought I'd heard in the past, but nope, I never had!
