Franz K. ~ Germany

Sensemann (1972)

Frank K. is a band named for Franz Kafka, and no surprise, is a leftist politrock group. But with long stretches of Krautrock goodness. The megaphoned German language fits the mood perfectly, and the guitarist rips his way through both of these side-longers, while the rhythm section blazes along. I've enjoyed this album for a long time now, and it seems after all these years, to still be somewhat unknown.

Ownership: 1972 Philips (LP). With insert. This is the second press, as it was released privately just shortly before this with a different cover (and quite rare at that). I think I prefer the bizarrely primitive original, but this makes a good door prize, and it's hardly cheap either.

First copy: 1994 Repertoire (CD) Booklet with short history (attached). Acquired in 1994.

1994; 1/5/22 (review)

1/5/22 (new entry)
