Dream Theater - Falling Into Infinity. 1997 USA
I talk some about my history with the Dream Theater on the A Dramatic Turn of Events post, so I won't cover that again. This was the album where I dropped off the Dream Theater bandwagon. Only to hop once again a few years later, and then hop off... permanently. But I've been enjoying going back and revisiting the titles I either sold off, or never bothered with in the first place. In retrospect, I hear Falling Into Infinity as an improvement to the more inconsistent Awake. As usual you get the music school metal gymnastics combined with the sappy I-wove-you-so-vewy-much-I-weally-weally-do styled ballads. Ah, what the heck, I'll keep it for now.
Ownership: CD: 1997 EastWest. Thrift shop find from late last year. At $2, I paid retail lol. Booklet includes lyrics and photos.
