Gabor Szabo - Bacchanal. 1968 Hungary

I'm not sure why I didn't feature Dreams before, though I was probably in a hurry. I fully intend on keeping that album. I finally got to Bacchanal in the listening box and it reminded me of that purchase, so now I have a page up. I bought this from the same wacky lady, this time for four bucks. Haha. Though this album only goes for a fraction of the other.

Bacchanal isn't quite as hypnotic as the albums I know from him during the same period which include the aforementioned Dreams as well as High Contrast and Gypsy '66, two albums I skipped over for documentation but do own. That said, it's still highly enjoyable. It's his usual mix of covers and original compositions, though in this case it's 75% of the former. Lays down a groove and Szabo picks away on his lightly amplified electric guitar. A timeless formula.

Ownership: CD: 2006 Skye / Muzak. Papersleeve edition.

My first copy was the original LP as noted above (2023). Decided that I would prefer this title on CD especially since it was offered at a deep discount.
