When I first started getting into collecting, the big money dealers (almost exclusively psych heads) were quick to state that this album was really the only album from Italy of merit (their second album also would get notice). Ha! They also went on about how it was one of the rare Italian albums in English, thus making it better. How times have changed. I don't think there's any question Circus 2000 were trying to be Italy's equivalent of Jefferson Airplane, or at the very least, Savage Rose. They do a fine job at it too, though there's not much here that is revelatory.
The first copy I owned was the Vinyl Magic CD (1997). I quickly replaced it in 2000 with the Akarma LP (where I also acquired the Boxing Circus vinyl EP). It was new at the Amoeba in San Francisco's Haight Ashbury neighborhood. One of those impulse buys I would do back then. I had doubted the album was going to make the long haul, but since it's now part of this fantastic box set with the superior Escape From a Box, it's status is more permanent.
1997 (first listen); 2000; 7/2/20 (review / new entry); 3/9/24
